To our valued NUVO Network Community - Members, Tenants & Guests:
First, we want to thank you for doing your part by taking steps to reduce the spread of the Coronavirus disease.
We are concerned about everyone in our community, and especially those grieving or ill due to this disease, people who have been laid off work, and those whose businesses have been forced to close.
We are equally concerned about vulnerable people in our community whose usual sources of support are no longer available due to the need for social service programs to suspend their normal operations.
Our building is typically a vibrant hub for all kinds of entrepreneurial, innovative and creative work, and a place for connection for meetings and events. We are pleased and encouraged to learn directly from many of our clients that their innovations and workflow continues despite working remotely. We have maintained our private ISP network and systems to ensure continued high-speed access remotely
As a property owner and landlord, NUVO’s main priority is to maintain the safety and security of our building and respond to the government’s directives. We have to help keep everyone as safe as possible, particularly those who require the building to perform their essential services. As such, NUVO has implemented industrial grade cleaning and disinfectant measures, with special care being applied to all surfaces and washroom facilities.
We ask for your cooperation by adhering to the Ontario government’s list of essential workplaces:
“Read the list of essential workplaces in response to COVID-19 (2019 novel coronavirus). If you have questions about what will be open or impacts to your business or employment, call the Stop the Spread Business Information Line at 1-888-444-3659.”
As of today, NUVO is supporting the safe operation of the following essential services:
NUVO team members are working hard to keep the building functioning and are doing so in a responsible manner, respecting the need for self-isolation and social distancing with each and every interaction.
We’re incredibly proud of our team’s dedication to serving you while keeping their morale up. They are completely focused on identifying solutions so we can do our part to support the local community throughout this very difficult time.
For any tenant or co-working member inquiries, our Concierge Team remains your first point of contact by email at concierge@nuvonetwork.com or by phone at 905-592-2598.
We will continue to ensure the safety and security of our building in this evolving situation.
We will continue to work with and follow the helpful guidance of all levels of government and local health authorities.
If you or a loved one needs resources or referrals to programs in our community, text or call 2-1-1 or visit 211ontario.ca.
Thank you for your trust. When this is over – and it will be over – we will all be stronger than ever.

Dear Valued Customers,
NUVO Taste takes food safety, and the health of its customers and employees, very seriously and we would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the enhanced food safety procedures we are operating under.
NUVO Taste is routinely inspected by Halton Public Health, and we are obligated to follow already stringent food safety procedures. Our most recent inspection occurred March 10, 2020 in which no issues were reported that would put the health and safety of customers at any risk. We are proud of our current sanitation practices and will continue to be vigilant.
In addition to our daily sanitation routines as outlined by Halton Public Health, we have introduced several new measures to further ensure the safety of the food produced by NUVO Taste. These measures include:
Food service establishments already operate under very high standards to ensure food safety during normal operating times. As chefs and professionals, the best standards of sanitation practices are part of our everyday operations, not just during times of heightened alert. Our extra vigilance will simply assist in the containment processes as outlined by the WHO, Halton Public Health, and other governmental agencies.

Burlington, ON— NUVO Network is hosting its first Hackathon in support of the United Way of Halton& Hamilton (UWHH). Hack the NU will identify opportunities, gaps and solutions for reaching the community and delivering local services. The two-day event brings together emerging business leaders, software developers, designers, and philanthropists in an intense collaboration.
Teams are formed on the spot and given 24 hours to hack solutions. Results are judged on:
• Creativity – the “wow” factor of the solution
• Usability – usefulness to solve a problem
• Technicality – the technology used to create the solution
• Scalability – potential for future enhancements
• Mission/business value – solving a problem that aligns with the mission
In partnership with the United Way of Halton & Hamilton (UWHH), Sheridan College’s Honours Bachelor of Interaction Design and several local businesses, volunteers and sponsors, NUVO Network will open its space for a weekend of hacking solutions. Bring a sleeping bag (not that you’ll get much sleep) and witness the mash-up of skills and a passion to help.

Exciting things are happening in how we grow food, source it, distribute it, cook it, and serve it. Come check out what local food innovators from Burlington, Halton and Hamilton regions are up to. Meet and chat, visit their interactive displays, taste their offerings.
Chef Damian Wills, NUVO’s Director of Culinary Experiences and Food Culture, will lead a dynamic conversation with three guest panellists:

• Alex Yurek from New Skew , food innovators, infatuated with re-imagining food experiences, and
• Marcia Wood CEO at FreshSpoke , an online platform that connects wholesale buyers with local food suppliers.
In conversation with Chef Damian, the panellists will tell the stories that drove their passion for food, innovation and technology. Then we open it up to you for questions.
“What’s happening with food today is nothing short of a revolution. We think globally while acting locally, we consider sustainability, climate, access and equity while never losing the joy, and sense of community food has the power to bring. Tall order. Thursday, December 13th, 2018 - Burlington, ON— NUVO Network, Halton’s largest broadcasting and co-working facility is preparing to launch a ground-breaking cybersecurity service in 2019 as a legitimate internet service provider (ISP) registered with the CRTC, offering a true and direct fibre-optic connection to Canada’s primary telecommunications exchange in Toronto. With a quality of service that will compete with larger companies, NUVO could be the first office facility in Ontario able to offer priority service, cloud computing and storage, and end-to-end encryption to its members that is secure, steady, and exceptionally fast.
While a regular internet connection through a national, regional, or local service provider might tout speed and security, in actuality your data has to navigate through an insecure maze before reaching its final destination. NUVO members’ data will travel directly where it needs to go with VLAN augmented security that will ensure data privacy and integrity, eliminating the need for expensive firewall and router equipment. This means no interruption, no security breaches, and no glitches, with high speeds for transferring large amounts of data via NUVO’s gigabit service.
“There is a misconception when it comes to speed and capacity, priority versus shared. For example, if a provider claims they can offer a specific speed per second, this may technically be true, but they cannot guarantee speed consistency on a shared network because transfer rates will be impacted by the number of users sharing the pipe at any given time. The more people using it, the more constrained it will be,” said Shaun Pennell, co-founder of NUVO Network. “We will be able to provide dedicated capacity at consistent speeds without being affected by the number of people allocated to our pureEthernet service.”
Some leading data security experts are concerned with data being stored outside the country. NUVO members will benefit from private cloud storage through an in-house server in Canada.
“These new services will be especially attractive to programmers and production companies who use NUVO’s facilities, but will also be available to the many small businesses and entrepreneurs who call NUVO Network home,” said Pennell.
This technical upgrade coincides with phase two of the reconstruction to NUVO Network’s 150,000 square foot building. The atrium, lounge/gaming area, performance venue and several multi-functional meeting rooms will transform during this phase, as well as the inclusion of a first-class food and beverage catering and café service, all set to be completed in 2019.

To complement the studios, NUVO Network also houses podcasting facilities, future gaming centre, recording and vlogging studios, editing suites, event and meeting spaces, banquet facilities, and concert venues. This is in addition to an ultra-modern working environment spanning three stories of light-filled, open-concept and enclosed offices and boardrooms. Members have easy, on-site access to all these businessboosting amenities and services, which was one of the key motivations for NUVO Network to acquiring and reimagining this space.
“This phase of the expansive project to reimagine the Crossroads Centre took approximately 4 months to complete, working with Maple Reinders, RAW Design, various contractors and consultants to ensure we met the vision and high standards we set for the project,” NUVO Network Founder and Owner, Shawn Saulnier, explains.
“In addition to opening this new co-working space on the second floor, we have started renovations on the third floor of the building which will serve as the new home for Crossroads, YESTV, Tricord Media and other long term tenants who are a valued part of NUVO Network.”
